Be it remembered that on the 16th day in October in the year Eighteen Hundred and five the following Bill of Sale was received to be recorded and was accordingly Enrolled as follows to wit

Know all men by these presents that I George Higgins of Talbot and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of Sixty pounds current money to me in hand paid before the sealing and delivery of these presents by Sollomon Higgins of Easton in Talbot County, and state afsd hath granted Bargained and Sold and delivered and by these presents doth grant bargain sell and deliver unto the said Solm Higgins one Negro man named Jerry aged about twenty three to have and to hold the said Mentioned Negro Man unto him the said Solm Higgins his heirs Executors Administrators or assigns forever as his or their own Property rights and Estate and the said George Higgins doth hereby warrant and forever defend the said negro named as aforesaid to the said Solomon Higgins against all manner of persons whatsoever claiming any right to the above mentioned negro Jerry. In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my Hand and seal this 14th day of October Anno Domini 1805

Talbot County to wit  Be it remembered that on the fourteenth day of October in the year Eighteen Hundred and five George L. Higgins personally appeared before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Talbot County and did acknowledge the within Instrument of Writing to be his act and deed and the negro man named Jerry therein mentioned to be the right and Estate of the within named Solomon Higgins his Heirs and assigns forever according to the true intent and meaning of the same Instrument of Writing and agreeable to the act of assembly in such case made.
